Member Rules: Automatically Assign Members to Groups
Member Rules let you automatically add or remove members from groups based on their profile fields. This ensures every member ends up in the right group — without any manual effort.
Step 1: Activate the feature
- Go to your Community Settings.
- Open the Advanced section.
- Enable the Member Rules option.
Step 2: Create a Member Rule for a group
- Open the desired group.
- Go to Settings → Members.
- Click Add Member Rule.
- Define your rule: select a profile field → set a condition → enter a value.
- Choose the action: add or remove the member.
- Click Save.
Practical examples
- 🏘️ Members enter their neighbourhood → automatically added to the corresponding neighbourhood group.
- 💼 Members with the profession "Carpenter" → automatically added to the "Carpenter" group.
- 🎫 Members with type "Active Member" → automatically added to the "Active Members" group.
Good to know
- Rules are evaluated continuously — including for existing members.
- You can create multiple rules per group.
- Any change to a member's profile field will re-trigger the relevant rules.
